About Dr. Andrew Klein

Dr. Klein is a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida who has deep roots in the South Florida community. Born and raised in Miami, he has maintained his connection with the city he has always loved. He began his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis and then graduated with Honors with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Florida. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and received formal training in various residential and inpatient treatment facilities in the South Florida area. Since then, he has worked in a wide range of settings, including the court system, sites maintained and supervised by the Department of Children and Families, community mental health clinics and private practice.

He is a certified Florida Forensic Examiner, who has extensive experience in the State and Federal court system as well as in Family, Dependency, and Delinquency courts. In Dr. Klein’s past role as a child welfare case management supervisor and psychological examiner, he focused on serving the most vulnerable in our community. While working in the child welfare system, Dr. Klein obtained certification as a Child Protective Care Worker.

“Over the last 20 years, I have had the good fortune of working with and learning from truly inspirational individuals. My clinical training incorporates a broad spectrum of influence, from psychodynamic and attachment theory to cognitive behavioral case conceptualization and intervention. While I maintain an active forensic practice, with work in state and federal courts, I cherish my clinical practice, working with those who come into my office seeking therapy. I have strived to maintain a flexible and eclectic approach to treatment, always informed by evidence-based, practical interventions. Much of what I do now incorporates principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).”

Dr. Klein currently maintains an active forensic and clinical practice in the Miami area. He is also a co-facilitator at the Children’s Bereavement Center, helping children and families cope with the death of loved ones.
